Day 1

And we finally arrived! After such a long trip we were welcomed by the amazing lights and aerial views of this amazing city of Kuala Lumpur, all of us looked like little 10 year old kids in a candy shop stuck on the windows amazed by everything. It wasn’t hard to spot the PETRONAS twin towers and the Kuala Lumpur tower from the plane. The airport is HUGE, and it looks so new and bright, it was actually built in 1998 and is the 13th busiest airport in the world, so you can imagine that there were a whole lot of people EVERYWHERE! The terminals could be a bit confusing but all the signs are also in English. It did take us quite a bit of time to find the taxi and limo counter because Ellen and Andrea had to stop in every single souvenir shop to check out the artifacts, and pictures and all the touristy stuff, even though they did not buy anything! I have to admit I was quite amazed with the exotic beauty of the Malaysian stewardesses and the girls had to keep calling me out and making me stop staring at them!

Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur

Our cab driver was quite entertaining, he spoke a fair amount of English and was very happy to drive us and tell us all about the city. The ride to the hotel only cost us 70 RM (Malaysian Ringgit) which is approximately $22 CAD. Our hotel (Park Royal Kuala Lumpur) is a very nice 5 star hotel and is very well located in a central area of the city. It is very close to the Pavilion mall and surprisingly enough there is a Starbucks right across the road. Our room is in the 8th floor and has an amazing view of the city. Fortunately enough, the girls are sharing a bed, so I have a queen bed all for myself! We were all too full with airplane food so we have not had any local food yet, and as soon as we arrived in the room we only had time for a shower and we all hit the bed to charge our energies for our exciting first day in town! I also posted a picture with our first night view impressions of the city! Hopefully the girls won’t snore a lot and will allow me to have a good night of sleep (I can’t sleep in airplanes). This is all for tonight, I will hit my bed and get some sleep, see you all soon!
